OROVILLE >> The Oroville City Council will consider a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) with specific terms to support relicensing of the Oroville Dam at its next meeting Tuesday.

Councilors will discuss asking FERC to “require the renegotiation or addendums be added to the original agreement prior to relicensing” the dam.

The council’s agenda also contains a report from Sutter Butte Flood Control about improvements to levees in Oroville, information reviewing city fees and consideration of a $10 million purchase of certificates of deposits.

In addition, the council will hold a public hearing for comments regarding a change to the city’s homebuyer assistance programs that will require applicants to have a minimum credit score of 620 and demonstrate the ability to receive an interest rate no more than 1% of the Fannie Mae 90-day rate.

The council will consider items in its consent calendar including:

• The sale of three city owned parcels located on Safford Street because they are reported to be substandard in size and undevelopable.

• An agreement for installation and maintenance for lighting at the Bedrock Tennis courts.

• The purchase of eight new self-contained breathing apparatuses for $96,190.95

• The purchase of emergency response equipment including light bars, sirens, center console and command module and radio installation for $13,882.29.

• A contract with Butte County District Attorney for investigative services for specific child abuse cases to cost between $220,000 and $400,000 annually.
