Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin are taking their long-simmering bromance to the next level.

The four-time NFL MVP ended months of “Will he? Or won’t he?” speculation by agreeing to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, pending the 41-year-old passing a physical. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.

The Steelers and Rodgers had been circling each other for months. Rodgers even visited the team’s facility in late March, driving in undercover in a nondescript sedan wearing a hat and sunglasses.

While there were plenty of nice words from both sides in the aftermath, Rodgers didn’t rush to put pen to paper, telling “The Pat McAfee Show” in April that his attention was focused on helping people in his inner circle who were “battling some difficult stuff” and that he didn’t want to decide until he knew he could fully commit.

Cowboys’ Rafferty dies at 70

Tom Rafferty, an offensive lineman who won a Super Bowl and played with two Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman over 14 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, has died. He was 70.

A year after getting drafted out of Penn State, Rafferty’s first season as a starter was at right guard in 1977, which ended with the Cowboys’ 27-10 victory over Denver in Super Bowl 12.

After a move to center, Rafferty threw one of the key blocks on Tony Dorsett’s record 99-yard touchdown run in a 31-27 loss at Minnesota on Jan. 3, 1983. Dallas had 10 men on the field for that famous play.

Henry’s movie cameo depends on yards

Star running back Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens finally has the attention of “The Waterboy.”

Henry has an offer from Adam Sandler, his favorite actor, to be cast in a movie if the five-time Pro Bowler rushes for 2,000 yards this season. The offer grew out of Henry’s appearance on radio personality Dan Patrick’s show this week.

Patrick told Henry he would get him in a Sandler movie if he made NFL history with a second 2,000-yard season.

USMNT loses friendly against Turkey

Turkey took advantage of a sloppy defense to beat the United States 2-1 in a rainy friendly, dealing the Americans their third straight loss as Arda Güler and Kerem Aktürkoglu scored in a 2-minute, 20-second span midway through the first half.

Jack McGlynn scored 59 seconds in for the U.S., which was missing many regulars as coach Mauricio Pochettino revamped his roster following a dismal performance at the CONCACAF Nations League final four in March.

The Americans dropped to 5-4 under Pochettino, who took over after first-round elimination last year’s Copa America led the U.S. Soccer Federation to fire coach Gregg Berhalter. They have lost three straight for the second time in a year.
