Resident of San Jose, CA

Glenn Louis Barcellos, age 82, of San Jose, passed away on June 2, 2025, while surrounded at home by his loved ones. He was born on January 27, 1943, in San Jose, the oldest son of the late Louis and Patricia Barcellos.

He is survived by his wife, Carole; three children Kevin (wife Kim), Cari and Robin (husband Larry Rollins); grandsons Aaron and Anthony Barcellos, Will and Alex Maldonado; granddaughters Alyssa Barcellos and Jordan Algren; and great-grandchildren Puka, Pepe and Levi. In addition, he is survived by his 4 brothers; Dale, Chris, Robert and Mark and two sisters Ellen Martinez and Faith Thompson. He was predeceased by brother Bernie and baby sister Hope.

Glenn was the emotional backbone and patriarch of a sprawling Barcellos family that will always remember his quiet strength, romantic soul and sarcastic wit. He married his high school sweetheart, Carole, in 1963 while he was enlisted and serving in the U.S. Navy. His 61 years of marriage to Carole and the life they built together was the epitome of the American Dream: two farm kids who grew up together, fell in love, built careers, a family, and a home that their parents could only dream about. Their marriage is a true eternal love story - one full of life, love, respect and teamwork.

Upon leaving the Navy in 1964, Glenn worked for electronic technology companies Wiltron and Raychem for 35 years before retiring in 1999. An avid golfer, Glenn could often be found walking 18 holes at San Jose Municipal Golf Course when he wasn’t taking care of his granddaughter.

Glenn was also a die hard Bay Area sports fan.

Many family get-togethers were spent with the entire family cheering on the Giants, Warriors and 49ers.

A technophile, Glenn was constantly on the cutting edge of electronic equipment, proudly showing his family the latest and greatest computers, iPads, phones and televisions whenever he brought a new one home.

Glenn’s compassion, support, and love for his family were inspirational and will be forever remembered.

Whatever was needed, his and Carole’s support knew no bounds.

An inurnment for family will take place Tuesday morning July 22 at 11:30am at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.

Friends and Family are invited to a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm at the Drying Shed, 402 Toyon Ave, San Jose, CA, 95127. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Glenn be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
