A former Warren police officer who will begin serving a sentence Friday for Tasing a man in Center Line pleaded no contest Wednesday to two charges for a 2020 incident when he was a Highland Park officer.

Dammeon Player entered pleas to misconduct in office and assault with a dangerous weapon, both felonies, in Wayne County Circuit Court in Detroit on allegations he twice Tased and then pushed a 36-year-old man in May 2020 outside a Burger King in Highland Park, causing the man’s head to strike a cement wall.
