Willow Glen softball player Alanna Clincy is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week and Silver Creek baseball player Noah Medina is the boys athlete of the week for March 17-22.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Clincy finished with 41.49% of the vote. Notre Dame-San Jose lacrosse player Mary Rangel took second and Mt. Pleasant softball player Leah Gonzales was third.

In the boys poll, Medina had 35.47% of the vote to edge runner-up Dionisios Vorrises, a Burlingame baseball player who finished at 34.23%. Serra baseball player Nate Hui placed third.

Clincy, a junior, pitched a two-hitter in the circle, striking out 10 as Willow Glen shut out Branham 5-0.

Medina, a senior, hit a walk-off single to lift Silver Creek over Gunderson 11-10 in eight innings.
