Scarlett Johansson is condemning antisemitism and calling for legislation to protect the public from artificial intelligence after a deepfake video of her and other celebrities, created with the technology, widely circulated on social media this week.

The AI video showed an image of Johansson in a T-shirt emblazoned with a hand and middle finger extended, a Jewish star and the name Kanye West. Though fake, the video implied she and others were responding to West’s most recent antisemitic remarks and a swastika shirt he was selling.

“I urge the U.S government to make the passing of legislation limiting AI use a top priority,” Johansson said.“It has been brought to my attention by family members and friends, that an AI-generated video featuring my likeness, in response to an antisemitic view, has been circulating online and gaining traction,” Johansson said in a statement obtained by CNN. “I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind.”

The fake video also included AI-generated imagery of Adam Levine, Mila Kunis, Lenny Kravitz, Mark Zuckerberg, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Stiller, Natalie Portman, David Schwimmer and others, set to “Hava Nagila,” a Jewish folk song.

Kelsea Ballerini denies rumors she’s pregnant

Kelsea Ballerini is coming off a rough couple of days. So rough, in fact, that she had to walk off the stage during a performance in Buffalo after just 20 minutes and postpone a couple of shows.

The cause? Well, she says she had the flu.

But it’s 2025, and social media is the place people go to brainstorm about other people, and so at least some fans started saying that the singer was pregnant. And we know this because Ballerini addressed it on TikTok, showing off a comment that guessed that she was with child. Ballerini looked down, gathered herself, and said … “or maybe it’s the flu.”

rock hall nominates Carey, Lauper and more

Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Phish are some the 2025 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a list that also includes two sets of musical brothers who have had public feuds and recent reunions — the Black Crowes and Oasis.

The hall revealed the list of 14 performer nominees Wednesday, including Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Maná, Soundgarden and the White Stripes.

Eight of the 14 nominees are on the ballot for the first time: Bad Company, the Black Crowes, Checker, Cocker, Idol, Maná, OutKast and Phish.

The 2025 inductees will be revealed in late April.
