Resident of Campbell

In Loving Memory of Christopher Anthony Larkin January 8, 1977 – June 12, 2025. PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way. GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what? GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise. PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad. GANDALF: No.

No, it isn't. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Anthony Larkin, who left us too soon at the age of 48 due to an undiagnosed medical condition. A gifted artist, soulful poet, good friend, and a fantastic son and brother to our family, he touched the lives of many through his creativity, kindness, and quiet strength. Though he had no children of his own, Chris was a beloved son, sibling, uncle, nephew, and friend.

He is survived by his mom, Marilyn Larkin and his siblings Patrick, Erin, Colin, Ian, and Duncan. All of us will remember his warmth, his wit, and the quiet way he made life better just by being in it. Chris was born in Richland, WA, and grew up in Benicia, CA. He graduated from Stonehill College in the Boston, MA area majoring in history. After college, Chris worked in the video game industry. He was most proud of his work as part ofthe creative team that developed Guitar Hero. Chris was instrumental (pun intended) in creating the Guitar Hero games. Chris picked the music in Guitar Hero Iand II, so if you hear "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts," or "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple, please think of him. Guitar Hero made those songs popular again. Our brother was the youngest in our family and a pillar of strength and selflessness. Before our dad passed, our brother gave him not just physical care, but dignity and love. After we lost our dad, he turned his focus to our mom, supporting her with patience, tenderness, and unwavering presence. He never asked for recognition, but the love he showed speaks volumes about the kind of man he was— selfless, steady, and full of heart, our family is stronger because of him. "Life is about having a good time and having candy, not putting roaches in your hair" -Dr. Steven Brule.
