Deshaun Watson’s unsuccessful and disappointing stay with the Browns has taken another significant turn.

The embattled QB was carted off the field Sunday with an Achilles tendon injury he suffered on a non-contact play during the Browns’ 21-14 loss to the visiting Bengals.

Watson, who hasn’t lived up to expectations in his two-plus seasons with the Browns, went down without being touched on a second down play with 1:26 left in the first half.

He dropped back to pass at the Bengals 21-yard line. When he planted, his right leg buckled and he dropped to the ground.

Watson immediately put his hands to his head as he lay on the field in obvious pain. The Browns’ training staff rushed out to assist him and were soon joined by his teammates as well as the Bengals, who came over from their sideline.

Golf: Julien Guerrier needed nine playoff holes in his 230th career tournament to claim his first European tour win. The 39-year-old Frenchman made an 8-foot par putt on the record-equaling ninth playoff hole to beat Spaniard Jorge Campillo at the Andalucia Masters in San Roque, Spain. Guerrier had forced the playoff by making a 16-foot par putt on the 18th for a final round of 2-under 70. ... Hannah Green of Australia shot a 1-under 71 to win the BMW Ladies Championship in Paju, South Korea, her sixth victory on the LPGA Tour and third this season. Green led or shared the lead after all four rounds. France’s Celine Boutier (66) finished one stroke back. ... The PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas ended too late for this edition.

NBA: Cavaliers starting F Max Strus, 28, will miss at least six weeks with an ankle injury sustained during a recent workout.

Soccer: Four-time defending English Premier League champ Manchester City needed an injury-time header from John Stones to beat last-place and host Wolverhampton 2-1. City is one point behind leader Liverpool.
