Wendy Louise Waite Lee passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the Fair Acres Manor Nursing Home in Greeley, Colorado, at the age of 81. Born on April 18, 1944, to George W. and Marjorie C. (Simonet) Waite, Wendy dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her personal and professional life.
As a dedicated wife and mother of two boys, Wendy's family was always her priority. In 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Dan Lee, a Navy Corpsman, on February 1, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas. Her loving care for their children and support for Dan during his deployment in Vietnam, demonstrated her unwavering strength and devotion.
For many years, Wendy served as a compassionate labor and delivery nurse in Longmont and Greeley, Colorado, and as a traveling nurse throughout the state.
Her passion for helping new families led her to become a business owner. She opened The Stork & Crib, a beloved store that sold maternity and infant wear, furniture, and accessories. The business thrived in the 1980s, expanding to three locations in Longmont, Boulder, and Arvada.
Wendy is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dan, who preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage.
Wendy is survived by her brother, Richard Waite, and her sister, Julie Dinsmore. She is also survived by her son, Jeffrey Lee, of Greeley, Colorado; her son, Jon Lee, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lee, of Louisville, Kentucky; and her two cherished granddaughters, Jalen Lee of Louisville, Colorado, and Jordan Lee of Flagstaff, Arizona.
Inurnment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
