The Northview girls wrestling team won the CIF Southern Section Central Division title at San Dimas High School on Saturday.

The Vikings also had three individual champions as they cruised to the team title with 270 points, well ahead of second-place finisher Esperanza (149.5 points).

Several area girls wrestlers performed well.

Northview’s Mia Hooper won by fall over Tesoro’s Saige Maddux for the 125-pound title, and Schurr’s Jocelyn Sosa finished third, winning by fall over Capistrano Valley’s Sydney De Sena.

Northview’s Sumaya Lazaro defeated West Covina’s Julie Cimarusti by fall at the 1:52 mark to win at 140 pounds.

Delarie Juarez also won an individual title for Northview, winning on a 3-2 decision over Esperanza’s Olivia Davis at 145 pounds.

San Dimas’ Aubreyelle Baeza won the 190-pound title by fall over Redondo’s Ria Chougule, and her teammate Charlene Smith finished second at 235 pounds. Smith didn’t wrestle in the final due to injury.

Los Altos’ Epenesa Elison won by major decision over Tesoro’s Maggie Cornish to win the 115-pound division and Northview’s Ysabella Hinojosa finished fourth.

In the 120-pound division, Northview’s Samantha Rivera lost in the final to Trabuco Hills’ Klyee Golz and San Dimas Lei’ani Jaime finished third.

Northview’s Marie Saldana (110), Marci Cueva (130) Juliet Salazar (135) and Sophia Gomez (155) all won third-place medals.

South Hills’ Miabella Madueno was fifth at 100 pounds and Schurr’s Bella Rose Rubalcaba finished second at 105 pounds.

Walnut’s girls team finished third in the Northern Division finals.

Walnut’s Eliana Garcia won the 115-pound title, winning by fall over Mayfair’s Kherington Mendes in 1:49 while her teammate Caylee Reyes finished second at 110 pounds, losing to Shadow Hills’ Alisa Murillo by fall in the final.

Glendora’s Samantha Sachs won the 130-pound title by fall over Palm Desert’s Victoria Espinoza in 1:47

At the Eastern Division finals, Arroyo’s Destiny Huitron lost in the 100-pound championship match to finish second.

At the Southern Division finals, Santa Fe’s Kailynn Santa Maria (135) and Jaeleen McLellan (235) both finished in second place.

NORTHVIEW, WALNUT BOYS FINISH SECOND

Northview came up short in its bid for the team title at the CIF-SS Inland Division individual championships Saturday at Temecula High School. The Vikings finished second overall, edged out for the title by Temecula Valley, 242 points to 210.

The Vikings had three individual champions and three second-place finishers.

Northview’s Ezekeil Lucero, also an offensive lineman on the football team, won a dramatic 285-pound heavyweight final with a 1-0 decision over Temecula Valley’s Justice El Sayad.

Northview’s senior Elijah Butler won the 106-pound title with a pin of San Clemente’s Caden Chad at the 3:50 mark. Elias Flores defeated Capistrano Valley’s Solomon Resnick, 13-7, to win at 120 pounds.

The Vikings’ Noah Butler (113), Henry Arellano (132) and Michael Vassalle (190) all finished in second place.

Walnut’s boys finished second in the Eastern Division finals with three individual champions.

Walnut’s heralded Ronnie Ramirez won the 126-pound championship with a pin of Lakeside’s Aden Arista. Walnut’s Christian Garcia pinned Paloma Valley’s Uriel Cruz in 1:49 to win the 120-pound title.

Walnut’s Noah Lopez won the 138-pound final against Bonita’s Dylan Garcia, 13-4. The Mustangs’ Andrew Tsoy finished second at 190.

Bonita’s Tristan Fernandez won his third straight CIF-SS individual title. The senior beat Lakeside’s Isaac Rea in the 150-pound division by fall at 1:14.

Bonita’s Jacob Fernandez finished second in the 132-pound division, losing to Lakeside’s Erik Quintero in the final.

At the Coastal Division finals at Fountain Valley High, Bishop Amat’s Benicio Thome (106), South Hills’ Rex Topete (165) and San Dimas’ Ethan Rodriguez (113) and Daniel Baeza (132) all advanced to the finals and finished second.
