Board approves plan
for restaurant site
The Heritage Preservation Board has approved plans to remodel the restaurant at 455 Magnolia Ave.
The former Don Antonio Ristorante is being turned into a restaurant called Feerma. The proprietors, among other changes, want to expand and enclose the outer seating area and expand the second story, which was part of the original house built in 1908, according to a report by Alex Othon, a city planner. The building, which is next to St. Patrick’s Church and St. Patrick School, is owned by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
“The property is not individually listed as a historic resource on the City’s Historic Resources Inventory; however it is within the H District and any proposed exterior alterations require review by the Heritage Preservation Board,” Othon wrote. “The structure was briefly reviewed during the 1975 evaluation of structures in the downtown district, at the time it was noted that the structure no longer has historic integrity due to additions and alterations made to it previously.”
The board held a hearing on the project on Thursday.

Firefighters and National Park Service rangers took the boaters and the dog to the Miller Park boat launch, and they were sent home after a medical evaluation.
