Less than nine months after moving out of Rancho Cucamonga, Kings Brewing Co. will open its new brewery in downtown Upland at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
It’s at 296 N. Second Ave., the former home of Charlie’s Stars & Stripes.
The new brewery will offer beer, wine and a selection of soju-based cocktails.
It also houses a restaurant, Crazy Gringo BBQ.
Crazy Gringo will offer appetizers along with sandwiches and plates for individuals and groups.
It ties in nicely with Kings’ owners’ other business, Kings Meat & BBQ Supply Co., located not far from the new Upland brewery.
Kings is launching three new brews to celebrate the move: Upland Pulse, Upland Flex and Upland Second and C.
The new brewery also features a stage for musical performances, with a roll-up door to let the music out into downtown.
With the performances, Kings is looking to create a “Nashville vibe,” says co-owner Jeremiah Cooper.
Kim Martin will inaugurate the stage, performing at 7 p.m. Friday.
Kings is also planning to host monthly kitchen and tap takeovers, featuring celebrity chefs and brewers that the owners have met and befriended in their travels.
The first kitchen takeover is planned for July 17, with chef Tony Ramirez of TFTI BBQ.
During the soft opening, Kings will be open Wednesday through Sunday.
