Rockies Pitching matchup
Giants RHP John Brebbia (2-0, 3.80 ERA) at Rockies RHP Dinelson Lamet (1-2, 13.17)
6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Coors Field
TV: ATTRM
Radio: 850 AM/94.1 FM
With injuries to the Rockies’ starting rotation piling up, Lamet has been at least temporarily forced into a starting role. And his first time out did little to inspire confidence he could regain the 2020 form with the Padres (3-1, 2.09 ERA) that saw him finish fourth in NL Cy Young voting. His final line on May 31 in Arizona: seven hits, five earned runs and four strikeouts over three innings. Considering the right-hander’s struggles out of the bullpen this season (12.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP), Lamet’s got a lot to prove. Brebbia has started four times over 25 games as an “opener” for the Giants this season, and he’s never gone longer than two innings thus far. Translation: Expect to see a fair number of San Francisco bullpen arms in this one.
