John F. Kizer, 66, of Greentown died Tuesday June 10, 2025, due to illness.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Alberta Heater Kizer. He attended Scranton Technical High School, and prior to retirement he worked at Burne Honda for 20 years and construction for J.R. Runco. After retirement he enjoyed working with his son, Craig, at Kizer Landscaping & Excavating.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found great joy in spending time outdoors. He also cherished time with his family and friends, always making the most of every moment shared with loved ones.
A true enthusiast of classic cars, he took pride in maintaining his Camaro and Chevelle. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Lisa (Johnson) Kizer.
Also surviving are 4 children, sons Craig Kizer and partner Shannon Lewis, Greentown, Jonathan Kizer and wife Kerry, Dickson City; daughters Melissa Anderline and husband Jimmy, Throop, and Chrissy Kizer, Dickson City; former wife Carol Kizer, Dickson City; grandchildren Dyllan, Taylor, Will, Karlee, Carson, Hannah; great-grandchildren Lukas and Beau; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother Stanley Kizer; sister Barbara Santarserio; granddaughter Daisy Kizer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton. Entombment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 5-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center.
