Resident of Gilroy

Lynn A Lockhart of Gilroy, CA passed away from cancer on March 21, 2025 at the age of 78. He is survived by his Monterey High School sweetheart and wife of58years, Penelope Karas Lockhart (Gilroy), his daughter, Sarah, sister, Patricia Wolfgang (New York), and brother, Jonathan Lockhart (Monterey), sisters-in-law Judith Karas and Rachel Karas Holz. Lynn was borninParkersburg, WV to Brooks JLockhart and Elizabeth Counts Lockhart, both deceased.

Lynn wasaMath educator for over 35years: atBrittonMiddleSchool andlater at Gavilan College. Aded- icated runner, he ran the Big Sur Marathon and was afounding member of the Gavilan Joggers and Striders Running Club. Music was part ofhis life –from playing the trombone in the UC Davis marching band to serving on the board of the South Valley Symphony in multiple positions.

Oneofhis greatest joys was tutoring in the Gavilan College Math Lab.

Lynn will be remembered for his kindness, patience, sense of humor, and curiosity about how Keurig machines work.
