Urban Meyer will join Nick Saban in the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class, and Michael Vick and Michael Strahan are among the former players who will be inducted.
The National Football Foundation announced Saban’s selection last week and the rest of the 18-player, four-coach class on Wednesday.
Among other picks: former Notre Dame QB Terry Hanratty and former Wisconsin RB Montee Ball.
The 2025 class will be inducted Dec. 9 during an awards dinner in Las Vegas. The Hall of Fame is in Atlanta.
College basketball: Iowa State’s NCAA record streak of 945 consecutive games with a 3-pointer ended Tuesday night in a 71-58 victory over Texas Tech. The Cyclones had made a 3 in every game dating back to Feb. 19, 1995, at Colorado when the school was still part of the Big Eight. The second-ranked Cyclones attempted just seven 3s and all of them missed against Texas Tech,. Also, Iowa State F Milan Momcilovic hurt his hand in practice this week and is out indefinitely. Momcilovic had started all but one game this season. He’s averaging 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in nearly 25 minutes per game, and his 44% clip from 3.
NBA: The NBA rescheduled two games postponed due to catastrophic wildfires in Southern California. The league also rescheduled a game postponed due to a winter storm in Atlanta.
NFL: Cleveland has filed a lawsuit to stop the Browns from leaving the city’s lakefront when its stadium lease expires after the 2028 season. Team owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam intend to build a $2.4 billion stadium and adjacent entertainment complex in Brook Park, Ohio, south of the city. ... The Colts will play in the first regular-season game in Berlin. The 2025 Berlin game will be played at Olympic Stadium. The Colts’ opponent and date of game will be announced later.
