Several lane and ramp closures begin at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 5, on I-75 in northern Oakland County, and some will remain in effect until early November.
These closings are in effect from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, April 7:
• Southbound I-75 ramp closed to and from M-15/Ortonville Road/Main Street
• Southbound I-75 ramp to Grange Hall Road closed
• One lane open on southbound I-75 from Holly Road to Belford Road
• One lane open on southbound I-75 from US-24/Dixie Highway to Clarkston Road
These closings are in effect from 5 a.m. Saturday to early November:
• Two lanes open on southbound I-75 from Holly Road to M-15/Ortonville Road/Main Street
• Southbound I-75 ramps closed to and from northbound and southbound US-24/Dixie Highway
• Eastbound and westbound Grange Hall Road ramp closed to southbound I-75
• Southbound I-75 ramps closed to and from Holly Road.
The closings will allow crews to install temporary markings and a barrier wall placement for a traffic shift, according to a release from the Michigan Department of Transportation.
The closings are weather dependent and may be postponed.
These closings are in addition to ongoing closings as part of the multi-year reconstruction of I-75 in north Oakland County. Check Michigan.gov for updated information.
The work is part of a $160 million project to resurface and repair the expressway from M-15 to the Oakland/Genesee county line.
The project includes resurfacing I-75, repairing 11 bridges, drainage improvements, culvert replacements and new signs and guardrails.
This year, southbound I-75 will be milled and resurfaced from M-15 to the county line, with two lanes of northbound and southbound traffic sharing the northbound side of the freeway.
Bridge repairs will be performed throughout the project limits along southbound I-75. Work is expected to be completed for the year in late fall.
In 2026, crews will remove the temporary crossovers and perform remaining miscellaneous tasks.
