KENTFIELD, CA
Ann Elizabeth Armour made her transition two days after her 94th birthday in the peace and comfort of her own home, as she wished. Family survivors in Canada include sister-in-law Ruth Armour (David) of Perth, Ontario, cousin Deb Laughlin, Toronto, nephew Kenneth Armour, Victoria, BC, nephew Michael Armour (Reyhan) of Abu Dhabi UAE, great-nephew Ian and great-niece Elif of Toronto, Canada. Ann came to the United States and obtained a BA at Northwestern University where she was bitten by the acting bug. She and her second husband Don Carr produced and performed in countless theater productions in Marin during the 60's and 70's. Ann was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared most famously with Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire.
She enjoyed season tickets at the SF Ballet and was a talented choreographer. She created and directed a Sacred Dance Choir which performed in churches throughout the Bay Area. Ann never turned down any opportunity to be on stage including a non-speaking role as a tree.
She was a founding member of the Marin Ladies Afternoon Tea Society and presided over many Sunday afternoon teas at her home in Kentfield. The only time Ann was not wearing a pearl choker was when she was in her pajamas. She adored her cats and lovingly mothered several.
She was a spiritual seeker and obtained a Masters in Theology from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. She attended services at the Community Congregational Church in Tiburon, Unitarian Universalists, San Rafael, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Ross, First Presbyterian Church, San Anselmo, and Unity in Marin, Novato where she served asaPrayer Chaplain.
We appreciate the care she received from Nancy Mack, Mercy Estep and Ester Abayata inthe last few months of her life. Celebration of Life will be held at Unity in Marin, 600 Palm Drive, Novato at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, July 28th, 2024.
