



For the first time, Woodland Community College’s Career Center is holding an Education Career Fair.
Lorell Cooke, counselor of career and workforce development, reported this inaugural Career Fair is set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Community Room of Building 800 at the college, 2300 E. Gibson Road.
“This event hosts private and public employers, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies promoting career opportunities, internships, and full/part-time positions,” Cooke reported.
“The purpose of this career fair is to provide WCC students, high school students, and community members the opportunity to meet with employers to learn about career options in education related to the arts, communication, and culture….”
Lorell reported participating partners include the UC Davis School of Education, Sacramento State University’s College of Education-Educational Equity Program, and the College of Continuing Education; the UC Davis CalTeach/Mathematics Program; the Yolo Solano Center for Teacher Credentialling; YMCA; Woodland Haven Preschool; Childcare Careers; Catalyst Kids; the Woodland, Davis, Esparto and Winters Joint unified school districts; the DaVinci Charter Academy in the Davis school district; the Yolo County, Colusa County, and Yuba County offices of education; and the Woodland College Department of Supportive Programs & Services.
