TYNGSBORO >> Tyngsboro High School has announced its Students of the Month for January.
Kathleen Alexandre, daughter of Valdnei Alexandre and Elaine Tiburski, has received numerous awards including Outstanding Achievement in World Language, the Principal’s Award, and the Spanish Honor Society Award. Kathleen has participated in multiple clubs and organizations such as the Spanish Honor Society where she has served as the treasurer, the Medical Professional Club, the Baking Club, the Yearbook Club, and is a student representative for the Commission of Disabilities for the town of Tyngsboro. She has actively given back to her community through various volunteer efforts, including assisting at town events and soup kitchens, providing childcare at her church and for family friends, and attending the Give Kids the World Village service trip. Her hobbies include reading, watching movies, volunteering, listening to music, walking with her dog, and going on late-night drives. Kathleen’s favorite subjects are science and World Languages and in the future she plans to graduate college, get a Ph.D, open a practice, own three dogs, and live in New York.
Brady Deschenes, son of Chris and Katelin Deschenes, was the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Business Award. Brady was a dedicated four-year member of the varsity soccer team, earning the honor of team captain and being recognized as the Comeback Player of the Year during his senior season. He has been an active member of both the DECA Club and the Robotics Club for four years. Currently, he serves as the DECA president, and last year, he held the position of vice president in the Robotics Club. Brady has also participated in community service such as attending the Give Kids the World service trip and coaching basketball for the town. He enjoys golfing, skiing, playing Brawl Stars, spending time with friends, and his favorite subjects are math and physical education. Brady’s future goals are to major in finance and have a family.
Lila Kilmon, daughter of Amy and Shane Kilmon, is a two-year member of the National Honor Society, serving as junior vice president during her junior year and president in her senior year. She has received numerous awards such as Outstanding Achievement in World Language, Outstanding Achievement in Science, the Academic Achievement Award, and the Smith College Book Award. Lila is a member of the varsity tennis team, where she earned the Coach’s Award and was recognized as a Mid-Wach All-Star. Lila is a member of the THS Theatre Program and the book club where she was president during her senior year. She has given back to her community by volunteering with the Tyngsboro Recreation Department to help run town events such as the Tyngsboro Festival of Trees, and the Tyngsboro Block Party. She also has volunteered at Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida in both her junior and senior year. Her hobbies include painting, reading, listening to music, and playing tennis. Her favorite subjects are biology and anatomy. Lila’s future goals are to go to college, get a degree in biology with a concentration in environmental science, and get a job that works to conserve wildlife species, and environments.
Jake O’Brien, son of Sandra and Ed O’Brien, was the recipient of both the Commitment to Learning Award and the Core Values Award. As a member of the varsity lacrosse team, Jake earned recognition as League MVP and League All-Star, while serving as team captain during both his junior and senior years. In addition, he played on the varsity hockey and soccer teams and competed for one season on the varsity football team. Jake has actively contributed to his community through volunteer work, including assisting at the Tyngsboro Block Party, St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Wreaths Across America, and the Little Bruins program. His hobbies include sports, working out, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Jake’s favorite subjects are anatomy and film classes and he plans to attend Saint Anselm College to study business administration and play lacrosse.
