The Corning Police Department announced Friday that it is looking for two teens who allegedly shot a Corning resident in his Prune Street home on Tuesday.

Police allege that a 43-year-old man was shot by 17-year-old Clint Mooney, of Orland, and 17-year-old Keanu Nahinu, of Yreka. Corning police say a detective has obtained an arrest warrant for both teens.

According to the press release, a 38-year-old woman who lives in the home was unharmed in the shooting, but the man was shot in the back.

Police say that around 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 1000 Block of Prune Street regarding multiple shots being fired and a man down with a gunshot wound to his back. When they arrived on the scene, they cleared the area of any suspects and began rendering aid to the wounded man.

Police allege that Mooney and Nahinu forced entry into the residence and waited for the man and woman to arrive home. When they came home and entered the residence, they saw the two peoplke with guns.

The pair then turned to run from the intruders who police say then fired shots, striking the male in the back. The two shooters ran away from the area after the shooting.

The wounded man was transported to the hospital. Police say after several days of investigation, they identified Mooney and Nahinu as the suspects in the shooting.

The Corning Police Department has been seeking the whereabouts of the two boys and following up on leads, while communicating with surrounding agencies to inform them of the suspects’ identities.

Mooney is 5-foot-8-inches tall, 155 pounds with black hair, hazel eyes and a noticeable tattoo that covers his entire throat and neck area. Nahinu 6-foot-2-inches tall, 230 pounds with a shaved head and no noticeable tattoos.

Police are asking the community not to contact the suspects because they are reported to be carrying weapons, and ask that anyone who has information about the two boys contact the Corning Police Department.

Police say both boys are known to be associated with gang members.
