Jack passed away at Fairview Southdale after a long and happy life.

He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to William and Myrtle Howard, following siblings Dorothy (Johnson), Betty (Sorg) and William Jr, all deceased.

He was also preceded in death by Lois (Johnson), his teen sweetheart and partner of 75 years, and is survived by children Cathy Waldhauser (Stan), Carol Carlson (Casey), and John Howard (Kimberley); grandchildren Jacqui, Andrew, Megan and Jeff; and eight great-grandchildren. After graduating early from Harding High and a brief stint in the Navy, Jack got a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, joined other veterans at Honeywell, and raised his family in the booming suburb of Richfield.

Family and a meticulously maintained home and yard were Jack’s pride and joy. Together with Lois, he was always there for parents, siblings, children, and friends. He loved kids, physical work, the outdoors, car trips, Frank Sinatra, a good Manhattan, ballroom dancing, golf, contract bridge, books of suspense or history, watching old movies and TV shows with Lois, and hugs. He was kind, gregarious, a wonderful story-teller and a man of integrity, honesty, and loyalty.
