With great sadness we announce the passing of Brian Lloyd Jenks, who died Dec. 14, 2024, in Reno, Nev.
Born in Woodland, Calif. on Feb. 4, 1947, to the late Burdette and Ella (Farnham) Jenks, Brian lived with a sparkle in his eyes and a broad smile. He grew up in Yolo, Calif., attending Cacheville Elementary School and serving proudly as a Yolo Fire Department volunteer firefighter.
Brian graduated from Woodland High School in 1965, where he was a swimmer and diver.
Brian attended Sacramento City College before earning a position with National Cash Register. He spent decades as an award-winning salesman for Brown-Forman, Guild Winery and Southern Wine & Spirits, taking him to Pleasanton, Calif., Reno and Phoenix. Brian returned to Reno in 1992, where he was a successful realtor and built cherished friendships.
Brian’s adventurous spirit took him from the fields and creeks of California to scuba diving Bodega Bay and the Grand Cayman—even journeys across Ireland and Greece, and skiing the Alps. With his 1971 Bronco, he was the original trendsetter, always ready to explore a 4-wheel trail, then entertain friends and family with his guitar around the campfire.
Brian is survived by former wife Marsha Michalak Gorman, children Stacey Jenks Hershauer (Mike) and Dan Jenks (Kim); grandchildren Andrew, Leah and Paige Hershauer, and Benry Jenks; and siblings Linda Jenks, Sally Jenks DeRock, Meribeth Jenks Parker (Vince), and Eric Jenks (Wendy).
A private ash scattering will be held by family in Bodega Bay.
Godspeed sweet Brian. You are forever in our hearts.
