Fans of the hit Hulu show “The Bear” might want to get in line extra early and come hungry to this Los Angeles deli because one of Chicago’s most iconic sandwiches, which helped inspire the show, will be popping up for a weekend.

Chicago sandwich shop Mr. Beef will be bringing its Italian beef sandwiches to Uncle Paulie’s Deli at 8053 W. Third St. from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. July 19-20. Along with the sandwiches, Mr. Beef owner Chris Zucchero will be there with Courtney Storer, “The Bear’s” culinary director and a Chicago native, who will be serving her Coco’s to Go-Go Homemade Italian Ice.

The pop-up, dubbed HexClad Serves Up: Mr. Beef at Uncle Paulie’s Deli, is a collaboration between cookware brand HexClad, the deli and Mr. Beef.

The critically acclaimed show stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto, a brilliant chef who returns to Chicago to run his late brother’s sandwich shop before transforming it into a fine-dining restaurant.

According to Variety, “The Bear” creator Christopher Storer has been friends with Zucchero since kindergarten, based “The Bear” on the beloved sandwich shop, and shot about 90% of the pilot in Mr. Beef.
