


Redwood High’s Julia Bayon ran personal bests in the girls 200 and 100 in prelims at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at the University of Oregon. Bayon finished 21st in the qualifying for the 200 Emerging Elite field with a mark of 24.89 seconds. She finished 13th in the 100 Emerging Elite field in 12.10 seconds, but missed the cut.
San Rafael’s Ellie McCuskey-Hay of the Marin Waves Track Club made the cut for the finals in the girls 100 championship field with a mark of 11.85 seconds in qualifying. That race was contested late Saturday night.
Redwood’s Marco Cleary ran a PR of 22.41 in the boys 200 Emerging Elite preliminaries, placing 51st on Saturday. He ran a personal-best 11.04 in the 100 Emerging Elite prelims on Friday, placing 27th. Tiburon’s Lucas Bayon, 14, placed 38th in the middle school long jump finals (4.79 meters) on Thursday.
Baseball
The Novato Knicks ran the win streak to six games Friday with a 10-5 victory over the California Redtails at San Marin High. The Knicks are a college-level baseball team playing in the Pacific Empire League.
• Hunter Lynch homered, doubled and singled as NorCal Black 2026 beat All Pro Navy, 9-4, in the first of two games Saturday. NorCal Black (6-3) stayed hot with a 8-6 victory over Silicon Valley Cobras 18U in the afternoon game.
Little League
The race to the District 3 playoffs is gaining momentum during the final weekend before the tournament opens. In Saturday’s 11s All-Star action, West Marin edged Ross Valley, 4-3, while Novato North, Novato South andTwin Cities all won handily. In 9-10s games, San Francisco American beat San Rafael, 4-1, while Novato North, West Marin, Tiburon Peninsula and Ross Valley all won. The District 3 playoffs are scheduled to begin Wednesday.
Youth basketball
The Branson School is hosting a summer basketball camp for middle school girls of all skill levels in grades 6-8. The camp, directed by incoming Branson head coach Kayden Korst, is scheduled for July 7-10, from 9 am to 3 p.m. The fee is $370. For more information, email summer_session@branson.org.
