Leaders are showing a lack of courage and character
A frightening realization for me is the contrast between the character and courage displayed by the signers of the Declaration Of Independence and that being shown by the leaders of the country today who are now in complete control. The circumstances are very different of course but very similar in many ways in that in both situations, there were/are tests of courage and character. The Democrats, with some exceptions, show a similar lack of courage but they are not in charge.
According to one account, “Five signers were captured by the British as traitors. … Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned,” with many other severe consequences that they suffered. Who can not admire and respect such resolve?
Do our current political leaders demonstrate any such bravery as they either totally display their sycophancy or weakly respond to the horror show that is with us today? Does it really take that much courage to disagree with Trump’s policies such as: Trading the EU and NATO in exchange for siding with Putin? How about firing much of the IRS staff and closing down IRS offices? How about consenting to allow an apparent Nazi sympathizer to invade and destroy functioning agencies within our government? How about cutting staff and offices of the Social Security Administration, making it increasingly difficult, if not impossible for paid beneficiaries to collect their payments?
This list could go on for pages.
Have our Republican “leaders” given in to such an extent that they will obey a man of such sterling character as Donald Trump so that they can keep from being driven from their jobs, their livelihood, their status?
Unless enough Republican leaders can summon the courage and character to face up to what is happening, it will be extremely difficult, even with increasing public protests, to stop this ongoing dissembling of our government, and with it, our democracy.

More reckless infill?
In response to the article “Developer wants to turn Boulder car dealership spot into 142 apartments” dated 3/20/25, does the city of Boulder really need more reckless infill? The developer mentioned here, like many, has mastered the skills of navigating our local government entities, to get what they want. Let me translate a few statements that this group utilizes often:
“Boulder’s affordability/housing crisis” — What crisis? Because people simply “want” to live in Boulder, does not warrant a crisis. This only means additional permanent congestion in our little town.
Variances — (i.e. parking reductions, bldg height limits, etc) when these are approved it only means a reduced quality of life for new and existing residents.
“Works for everybody” — meaning for all those involved in getting the project through, not for the current community.
“Local walkable resources” — With each of these infill projects, these resources are absolutely diminished.
“This proposal has been moving along quickly without adequate public visibility,” as stated by the planning board — Just like it reads folks, these guys are masters of slipping it by us.
“As well as the developer’s commitment to activating ground-level retail space that is accessible to the public, rather than merely serving as an amenity for the project’s eventual residents,” as stated by the planning board — Developer’s commitment “Or there lack of” is what is being said here, again related to diminishing local resources for the local community.
To all who care about Boulder, please be aware of these projects that permanently affect our lives after they are approved, and write and call your city council members.

Next election we must work to sink the Trumpists
The Trumpists shall be defeated and the Musk glands from the hind legs of the minions shall be removed to prevent the despoiling of the true meaning of the American dream. The dream is not chastising the lower class, the immigrants, or you the aware and woke. We are NOT the evil. We are the free, the righteous. Not the self-righteous oligarchs with a goal to “fix” us. Diversity is not a flaw. It is power beyond Trumpism. Trumpism is baby Naziism. The adolescent Naziism, it’s even worse. Adult Naziism is a death cult. The next election will put all of the House or Representatives on a live-or-die kayak. Sink the Trumpists and float faith in the Constitution to balance power and destroy the over-power of a strong man. Crush him. Let him feel crushed.
