January 1, 1939 - December 29, 2024 Novato, CA Marlene Siragusa (Meester) passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on December 29, 2024, in Novato, California, at the age of 85.
Born on January 1, 1939, in Kimball, Nebraska, Marlene spent her childhood on the family farm in Potter Nebraska. After high school, Marlene pursued her education at a business school in Denver before beginning a career in banking. She later chose to focus on raising her family while remaining active in her community through various clubs and organizations.
In 1987, Marlene embarked on a successful career in real estate with TRI and Coldwell Banker. Her dedication and hard work earned her membership in the Million Dollar Club, Million Dollar Plus Club, Leading Edge Society, and Presidents Club. She was also deeply involved with the Widowed Persons organization, serving on several board positions.
Marlene loved to have fun, laugh and play. She had a passion for music and dancing. She played the piano beautifully and enjoyed singing. She also loved bowling, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling with Angelo, family and friends, she was an avid card player and loved playing Bingo. A member of several social groups—including the Novato Newcomers, Novato Choraliers, Treble Tones, Red Hats, and Widowed Persons—she embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth.
Marlene once shared that she found happiness in making people smile and laugh. She is survived by her children: Jolene Graniss (Dave), Christina Quay (Ian), and Ken Siragusa (Chris); her grandchildren: Justin (Nicole), Gregory, Courtney (Steven), Heather, and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren: Victoria (Daniel), Angus, Angelo, Kaydence, Natalie and Layla; and her great-great-granddaughter Adeline, her brother Jerry Meester (Chris) and several nieces & nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Melvin Meester; her husband Angelo Siragusa; and several relatives and dear friends she cherished throughout her life.
The family would like to thank Creekwood Senior Home, By the Bay Health, Dr. Mary Ellen Wilkosz, and LITA for the amazing care provided to Marlene in her later years.
A "Party" in Marlene's honor will be held on Tuesday April 15th at Valley Memorial Park 650 Bugia Ln., Novato, from 11 am to 1:30 pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to By the Bay Health.
Marlene will be remembered for her humor, intelligence, kindness, and vibrant spirit. She brought joy to those around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
