Elizabeth Jo (Beth) Jackson of Woodland, CA, died on June 9 surrounded by family from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Born July, 6 1943 in Washington, DC to David and Florence (Schanlaber) Eddy. In I961 she married Thomas Jackson of Claremont, CA. They were married for over 62 years. They were the parents of three daughters, January (Richard) Ferro, Juliet (Daniel) Herrera and Amy who predeceased her in 1966. She also leaves five grandchildren Ryan Ferro, Roman Ferro, Taylor Herrera, Renee Ferro, and Hanna Herrera, one great granddaughter Loa Ferro and 2 step granddaughters Lisa and Wendy and her family.

Her passions in life were education and travel. She was a graduate of SUNY (State University of New York) where she earned a dual BA/BS degree in Art History and Business, and San Jose State University, a Masters Degree in Library Science and Information Technology. She had three careers. The first was in the travel industry as an agent and owner of Cache Creek Travel for in Woodland for 12 years. Then she returned to school and earned a masters degree in Library Science. She was a public service librarian at Woodbury University in Burbank, CA and the head of the Library and Information center at Rockwell Semiconductor Systems in Newport Beach, CA. Her favorite occupation was as an Adjunct Professor in the Library Science Graduate School at San Jose State University.

Beth and Tom were avid travelers. She had been to all of our 50 states, 5 continents, and over 50 countries. She served on the Board of Yolo Arts, the Yolo County Art Council for five years. The family asks in Lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Yolo Arts at P.O. Box 1234 Woodland, CA 95695.

A Celebration of Life is planned to be on her 80th birthday (July 6) at the Ferro barn (Rd 26 then south on Rd 87). Contact the family around the 1st for details.
