Homeless Outreach Street Team Weekly Report
As HOST continues to engage with the unhoused community, meaningful relationships are formed. This week, a previously unhoused individual, who had struggled with drug addiction but has been clean for several years, was facing challenges. Thanks to the relationship built with the HOST team and their offer of ongoing support, the individual reached out for help. HOST responded, offering guidance and resources, which prevented a potential relapse and return to homelessness. Instead, the individual was connected with the necessary resources and remained on a positive path.
HOST also assisted an individual who was at risk of becoming unhoused again by connecting them with resources to remain in a support program. Staying in this program enabled the person to enroll in an online course through UC Davis, where they excelled, earning an A on their first exam.
HOST made 60 contacts and offered services to 29 individuals, 16 of whom accepted. HOST tagged 6 camps and cleaned up 8 camps. Six downtown patrols were completed.
This is a synopsis of reports provided by the Woodland Police Department, and does not include all calls or arrests or some cases which are under active investigation.
