Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered for the Yankees (46-34), who remained one game in front of Tampa Bay in the AL East.
Fried (10-2), the former Harvard-Westlake standout, went seven innings and allowed an unearned run, four hits and struck out seven.
Domínguez and Grisham each had two doubles.
Chisholm hit a two-run, third-inning drive off Brady Singer (7-6).
Rangers 7, Orioles 0: Jacob deGrom held Baltimore hitless until Colton Cowser’s leadoff single in the eighth in Texas’ road victory.
The right-hander, who turned 37 on June 19, retired his first 18 batters before walking Jackson Holliday. He walked Ryan O’Hearn with two outs in the seventh.
Cowser grounded a single to right on a 1-1 fastball.
DeGrom (8-2) a two-time Cy Young Award winner, won his fourth straight decision, striking out seven and walking two.
Jacob Webb and Cole Winn each got three straight outs as Baltimore was held to one hit for the third time this season.
Josh Jung had three RBIs with a run-scoring single in the second and a two-run homer in the fourth off Brandon Young (0-2).
Padres 1, Nationals 0: Nick Pivetta shut down Washington through seven brilliant innings, striking out 10, and San Diego won at home.
Pivetta (8-2) allowed just three baserunners, all on singles, and none reached scoring position.
Luis Arraez had three singles and drove in the game’s only run in the second off former Padres left-hander MacKenzie Gore (3-8).
Gore the third pick overall in the 2017 amateur draft, allowed one run and five hits in six innings, struck out six and walked three.
Brewers 4, Pirates 2: Making his third major league start, Jacob Misiorowski threw five shutout innings and Milwaukee defeated visiting Pittsburgh and Paul Skenes.
Misiorowski (3-0) allowed two hits, walked two and struck out eight.
Misiorowski, 23, entered having given up one hit and two runs in 11 innings over his first two outings since being promoted from Triple-A Nashville on June 12.
Skenes, also 23 and the reigning NL Rookie of the Year, allowed all four runs in the second inning. Skenes (4-7), the former El Toro High star, gave up four hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings.
Cubs 8, Cardinals 0: Ian Happ hit a leadoff home run and drove in three, Matthew Boyd gave up three hits in six scoreless innings and visiting Chicago blanked St. Louis.
Reese McGuire and Kyle Tucker also homered for the Cubs, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Boyd (7-3), who did not issue a walk, has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last six starts.
Astros 2, Phillies 0: Victor Caratini homered, Isaac Paredes drove in a run and Houston shut out visiting Philadelphia for a second straight game.
Astros starter Colton Gordon (3-1) allowed four singles and struck out four in five innings.
Phillies starter Zack Wheeler (7-3) yielded four hits and a run while striking out eight in six innings.
Mets 7, Braves 2: Juan Soto homered twice and New York beat visiting Atlanta.
No. 8 batter Ronny Mauricio also went deep and finished with three hits as New York won for only the second time in 12 games.
Clay Holmes (8-4) pitched around four walks in five innings.
With the score tied 1-all, Soto sparked a five-run fourth when he homered to right-center on the first pitch of the inning from Didier Fuentes (0-2), who was making his second big league start.
Brett Baty and Brandon Nimmo each singled home a run during the rally.
Soto connected again leading off the seventh against Austin Cox.
White Sox 7, Diamondbacks 3: Lenyn Sosa went deep twice and finished with four RBIs to lead Chicago at home over Arizona.
White Sox rookie starter Sean Burke (4-7) allowed two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out seven.
Twins 2, Mariners 0: Joe Ryan won for the seventh time in eight decisions, Kody Clemens homered and host Minnesota beat Seattle to stop a five-game skid.
Ryan (8-3) allowed three hits in six innings, struck out eight and walked none to help Minnesota end a six-game home skid.
