FREMONT — Crews on Tuesday morning had successfully contained a fire that ignited in a remote area just east of Fremont, fire officials said.
The Mission Fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Mission and Andrade roads, according to Cal Fire. As of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the blaze had charred 64 acres and was 100% contained.
Cal Fire and the Alameda County Fire Department sent multiple fire engines, three bulldozers, helicopters and two air tankers to the blaze.
Fire officials announced Monday afternoon that the blaze’s forward progress had been stopped.
“Ground resources remain at (the) scene reinforcing containment lines and mopping up,” Cal Fire said in an incident update.
There were no reports of injuries or damage to structures. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
