Andrew Shute fanned eight over five one-hit innings, backing a two-run double from Brody Bumila and a two-run single from Jake Webster to power Bishop Feehan in a signature, 5-2 nonleague win over previously unbeaten Taunton.

Boys lacrosse

In a nonleague matchup, Michael Reilly scored five times and Matthew Grafton added two tallies and six assists as Abington defeated Whitman-Hanson 11-4. … Ben Campbell (seven goals), Tyler Moody (four goals, four assists), and Connor Harvey (four goals, two assists) led Bishop Fenwick to a 21-6 victory over Danvers.

In a South Shore League game, Molly Campbell (two goals, two assists), Emily Regan (two goals, one assist), and Reese Hansen (one goal, three assists) paced Cohasset (6-1) to a 15-0 victory over Abington.

In nonleague action, Sharlotte Stazinski struck out 11 while allowing just one hit as Walpole blanked Franklin 4-0.

Kiley Hogan notched 12 strikeouts as Tyngsboro defeated Beverly 6-1. … Maggie Schlossberg finished with five RBI, including a three-run home run, and struck out four as East Bridgewater defeated Oliver Ames, 10-1. … A solo home run to left field by Maddie Andrade in the last of the fifth gave Latin Academy a 5-3 win over Boston Latin.

Emma Penniman struck out 17 as Triton (4-3) edged Shawsheen, 3-2. … Katie Anderson and Olivia Klaus (RBI) each notched a pair of hits for Medway (4-3) topped Apponequet, 3-1. Alessandra Cautilli and Gracie Delucia each drove in a run as well.

Anya Cranston (two doubles, two runs, RBI) and Lila Areias (double, three runs) each batted 3-for-5 to lead an offensive eruption from Tewksbury as it defeated Merrimack Valley Conference foe Methuen, 11-0. Gabby Davis allowed just five hits in a complete game while striking out seven, pairing with two-RBI days from Julianna Cappiello and Chloe Veator.
