


San Marin High quarterback Daniel Rolovich announced via social media on Monday that he has committed to play for San Jose State.
Rolovich, a junior, completed just over 57% of his passes last season, throwing for 1,790 yards with 21 touchdowns against seven interceptions. Rolovich also finished second on the team with 501 rushing yards and a team-high six rushing touchdowns.
Marin Catholic’s Braiden Bachich-Dixon, a senior, is also committed to play for SJSU next season.
Rolovich helped lead San Marin to a 7-4 record and a spot in the North Coast Section Open Division playoffs as one of the top eight teams in the section. Rolovich was selected as the quarterback for the all-Redwood Empire Adobe Division second team.
Pro football
Former Marin Catholic High standout Spencer Petras attended a training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend and it set to attend another one with the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend.
Petras, who played quarterback for Iowa before transferring to Utah State this past season, is looking to catch on with a team after not being selected in the NFL draft last week.
Petras posted career-high numbers across the board with Utah State, throwing for 2.315 yards and 17 touchdowns against 11 interceptions for the Aggies last season.
Women’s soccer
Former Marin Academy standout Cami Colpitts was selected to play for the USA D-3 Soccer Team when it embarks on a Brazil tour later this summer.
Colpitts, who plays for defending NCAA D-III champion Washington University in St. Louis, is one of 17 players selected to the team that will compete in Brazil from May 26 until June 4.
College baseball
College of Marin earned the No. 15 seed when the bracket for the California Community College Athletic Association baseball playoffs was revealed on Sunday.
The Mariners (26-13-1) are set to face No. 10 Lassen (26-13-1) in a best-of-three series on Friday and Saturday. COM will on the road for all three contests with Game 1 set for 2 p.m. on Friday. Game 2 is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday with Game 3 to follow, if necessary.
COM played Lassen twice during the regular season — a 6-1 COM victory on Feb. 8 and a 10-10 tie between the two teams later that day.
College softball
Dominican University (31-21) nabbed the No. 4 seed in the PacWest Conference tournament and opens play against top-seeded Biola (37-17) on Wednesday at a time to be determined.
