San Jose and Simi Valley

Carol, 76, passed away in peace on Nov 7, 2024. Carol was born in Washington, IL and also resided in Indiana.

She lived on a farm (and through a tornado!) before the family, including her three younger brothers, moved to Fremont, CA when she was 12. She graduated from Kennedy HS. She grew up in the Church of Christ and, through a church friend, was set up on ablind date with Paul, in Jan 1967.

They were immediately smitten and married May 4, 1968.

Paul and Carol enjoyed a happy marriage of 53 years, living most ofthose years in one home in San José. As a young wife, Carol had a spiritual awakening; she and Paul attended Los Gatos Christian Church (now Venture Christian) where they raised their two children, Paul Jr. (PJ) and Karyn, to love the Lord and to pray.

Carol was a stay-at-home mom, classroom volunteer, Girl Scout leader, soccer mom, and spiritual guide.

At various times she joined the Police Wives’ Club, the Bowling League, and Marriage Encounter with Paul.

For decades, she faithfully attended Bible Study as well as their Shepherding Group. She enjoyed crafts such as sewing clothes for the family, needlepoint, and scrapbooking. In1986, she started a 14-year role as an office administrator for State Farm Insurance.

In retirement, she and Paul continued camping and traveled internationally.

She and Paul cared for her father-in-law then her parents; and then finally she cared for Paul as he endured a progressive disease. Following Paul’s death (Aug 2021), she moved toSimi Valley inJan 2023 to live near Karyn.

Even when other hobbies ceased, she remained faithful to Bible study.

Carol is survived by her son PJ (Jennifer) and daughter Karyn (Kurt Morrill); grandsons Ben Schmidt, Samuel and Nathan Morrill; her brothers Alvin (Jennifer), John (Glenda) and Dennis. She is preceded in death by parents Delbert & Virginia (Rushing) Reedy and beloved husband, Paul.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Saratoga Federated Church.

The graveside service will be private.
