Jordan Nytes already is making a big impact in her old conference.

On Wednesday, the CU junior was named the Big 12 Conference goalkeeper of the week after posting a pair of shutouts last week for the nationally ranked Buffaloes.

It is the second Big 12 weekly honor of the season for Nytes and the fourth of her career, as she won the award twice as a freshman at Oklahoma State. Nytes also was named the goalie of the week twice last year in the Pac-12.

Nytes recorded five saves in last week’s 1-0 rivalry win against Denver, extending CU’s winning streak against the Pioneers to 13, then added four saves during Sunday’s 2-0 win against Weber State. The victories extended Nytes’ scoreless streak to five games.

Dating back to the end of a defeat against North Carolina on Aug. 18, Nytes will take a scoreless streak of 429 minutes, 52 seconds into the 19th-ranked Buffs’ conference opener at Kansas State on Thursday night (6 p.m., ESPN+). It is the seventh-longest scoreless streak in program history.

With 19 wins at CU, Nytes ranks eighth in team history and will tie Kara Linder for seventh with her next win.

CU (6-1) takes a five-game win streak into its first-ever battle against Kansas State, as KSU didn’t begin playing women’s soccer until 2016.
