The Davis Odd Fellows Thursday Live! concert series welcomes Lorin Rowan’s Rattlebox Feb. 6.
The Odd Fellows Hall is located at 415 2nd St., in downtown Davis. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30. There is no charge for admission with all donations going to musicians.
Rattlebox plays, what is called “Progressive Acoustic Americana.” A bit out of the box from straight-ahead Americana.
The band features Lorin Rowan on guitar and vocals; Doug Harman, on cello and vocals; Mookie Siegel, on keyboard; and Ken Emerson, on dobro/lap steel.
Harman toured with the Norton Buffalo band, while Siegel has played with bands including Phil Lesh, David Nelson, and New Riders of the Purple Sage. Emerson, meanwhile plays with Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan.
Rowan moved to Marin in the early 1970s and joined his brothers Chris and Peter Rowan to form “The Rowan Brothers” and record their first album.
They signed by David Geffen to record albums including “Sibling Rivalry” and “Jubilation.”
The country-rock arrangements featured their sterling three-part harmonies.
Thursday Live! is presented by the Davis Odd Fellows Music Committee with the support of KDRT radio. For more information or to be added to the email list please contact Juelie Roggli at juelrog@gmail.com
