Karra Marie Barber-Wada passed away peacefully on January 29, with her husband, Scott Wada, MD, and her son, Thomas Barber, at her side. May her precious soul rest now and forever in the peace of Christ.

Karra was a loving wife, devoted mother, beloved daughter, caring sister, and loyal and trusted friend. She inspired many with her "can do" approach to life and leaves behind a legacy of love, along with a beautiful smile.

A native Californian, Karra was a 1981 graduate of Mt. Diablo High School in Concord and received a bachelor's degree in health services from California State University, Chico, in 1985. Following graduation, she was employed as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Company, Ltd. for several years.

More recently and following a bone marrow transplant at Stanford Medical Center in 2012, she found writing to be fulfilling and is a published author of 6books and numerous magazine articles.

Karra is survived by her husband, Scott and her son, Thomas Barber, Mother, Kate Laborde (Henri), Sister, Farrell Pappas (Andrew); Nieces and Nephews: Katherine and Will Pappas, Ciara and Connor Chow and Scott Sievers, Jr.; Stepsons, Jet (Ashley) and Dash Wada.

On the Wada side of her extended family, Karra also leaves Lucy Wada, Mother in law; Brothers in law: Grant Wada (Cheryl), Eric Wada, DDS (Sylvia) and Craig Wada DDS; Step Nieces and Nephews: Camille and Jack Wada; Madison and Seve Wada; Jesse, Janae and Sky Wada; and her two Step Grandchildren, Cali and Kru Wada Karra was predeceased by her father, Donald Sievers; brothers Marc and Scott Sievers and her sister, Taryn Sievers.
