Hike the North Shore Trail

This famous trail winds above cliffs at the northern end of the reserve. On a clear day, hikers can see Pebble Beach and the entirety of Carmel Bay. This trail begins at two locations: by Whaler’s Cove and the Info Station by Sea Lion Point. You can hike in either direction while enjoying the scenic views. Look for sea otters, pelicans, and deer as you hike. Remember to be aware of uneven hiking surfaces and a steep incline; the trail will become extremely muddy during the rainy season.
