SANTA CRUZ >> The Santa Cruz Police Department has made an arrest related to a shooting that took place at the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor last month.

With help from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Lakewood Station, Santa Cruz police have apprehended Moses Dollar, 27, and charged him with attempted homicide. A women associated with the case, Jakaella Porter, had an outstanding arrest warrant for conspiracy and attempted homicide as of Tuesday.

Law enforcement was called to the harbor the evening of Aug. 8 and discovered two individuals that had been shot and were in critical condition. In the weeks after the shooting, police investigators learned that there had been an altercation in the parking lot before the suspect fired at both victims and fled the scene in a black Dodge Charger. Both victims of the shooting were transported to a trauma center where they remain in critical condition, according to a release from the Santa Cruz Police Department.

The shooting occurred at the tail end of the nearby Crow’s Nest Summer Beach Party series which, only days later, was canceled for the remainder of the summer in the name of public safety.

Police also found two bullet holes in the walls of the restaurant after the shooting, but said no one else had been struck or injured.

Dollar was arrested in Los Angeles County Sept. 18 and transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail Sept. 23.
