Aaron Judge hit a pair of two-run homers and New York overcame a six-run deficit for a 9-8 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

Rays ace Shane McClanahan failed to hold a 6-0, fifth-inning lead, six days after Yankees ace Gerrit Cole squandered a 6-0, fifth-inning advantage in an 8-7, 10-inning loss at Tampa Bay.

Yandy Díaz hit his first career grand slam in a five-run fifth against Yankees starter Nestor Cortes.

Judge’s homers were his first since April 19 and gave him his 29th career multihomer game.

Kyle Higashioka and Judge chased McClanahan with two-run homers in the bottom of the fifth, the first of consecutive innings in which the Yankees batted around.

Anthony Volpe reached on a bunt single off Ryan Thompson (1-1) starting the sixth, stole second and third, then sped home on the next pitch when Thompson’s slider was way outside and eluded catcher Francisco Mejía. Volpe is 13 for 13 in steal attempts.

Gleyber Torres walked and Judge drove a slider 439 feet into the left-field second deck for his eighth homer this season and a 7-6 lead.

Orlando Cabrera added a two-run single against Javy Guerra on a grounder to right.

MARINERS 5, TIGERS 0 >> Seattle rookie right-hander Bryce Miller shut down Detroit for seven innings in a victory that pushed the visiting Mariners above .500 for the first time since they won on opening day.

Miller (2-0) allowed just three hits, two in the first inning, and walked none. In three starts, Miller has given up just one run on seven hits while walking one and striking out 18 in 19 innings.

Jarred Kelenic hit a two-run home run in the third and Teoscar Hernández hit a solo homer in the fourth.

Alex Faedo (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits while walking one and striking out seven.

BLUE JAYS 5, BRAVES 2 >> Bo Bichette singled home the tiebreaking run in the seventh and finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs as Toronto won at home over Atlanta.

The Blue Jays have won eight straight over the Braves, sweeping all six games in 2021 before winning the past two.

Kevin Kiermaier had three hits and scored twice, and Whit Merrifield had three stolen bases and an RBI for Toronto.

Atlanta’s Marcell Ozuna hit a two-run homer in the second.

REDS 6, MARLINS 5 >> Jake Fraley hit his third homer in two days as Cincinnati beat Sandy Alcantara and host Miami.

Henry Ramos had a go-ahead RBI double off Alcantara in the eighth. Marlins center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. exited with a lower right leg injury after he collided with the wall attempting to catch Ramos’ drive.

Alcantara (1-4) squandered two leads and his ERA increased to 4.91. The 2022 NL Cy Young Award winner issued a leadoff walk to Jonathan India in the eighth. India then stole second before Fraley’s run-scoring single tied it at 4-all.

Matt Barnes relieved Alcantara and allowed Stuart Fairchild’s RBI single.

Alcantara gave up six runs, seven hits, struck out nine and walked two in 7 2/3 innings.

RANGERS 5, ATHLETICS 0 >> Jon Gray took a no-hitter into the seventh and finished with eight scoreless innings, Nathaniel Lowe homered and Texas blanked Oakland.

Ezequiel Duran also connected on a two-run homer in the ninth for the AL West-leading Rangers, who are 24-15 for their best mark through 39 games since going 25-14 in 2013.

Gray (3-1) retired 20 of the first 22 batters he faced and worked around a pair of walks while dominating the worst team in baseball.

He set down the first two batters in the seventh before Jace Peterson slapped a single to right for the A’s first hit. Peterson was later thrown out sliding into home trying to score on a relay throw from second baseman Marcus Semien following Ramón Laureano’s double.

CARDINALS 4, RED SOX 3 >> Kenley Jansen (1-2) blew a ninth-inning lead for the second straight day when shortstop Kiké Hernández’s throwing error on a potential game-ending double play allowed Nolan Gorman to score the go-ahead run in a three-run ninth, lifting St. Louis over Boston at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox wasted a stellar start by Chris Sale, who pitched eight innings of one-run ball in his longest outing since 2019. He struck out nine, giving up three hits with one walk.

Nolan Arenado had a solo homer for St. Louis. Rob Refsnyder had a two-run double and three hits for the Red Sox.

ORIOLES 2, PIRATES 0 >> Tyler Wells pitched seven innings of one-hit ball and host Baltimore used homers by Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson to beat slumping Pittsburgh and clinch its ninth series win in its last 10.

Roansy Contreras (3-4) took the loss for the Pirates, who have dropped four in a row and 11 of 12.

TWINS 11, CUBS 1 >> Alex Kirilloff hit two of Minnesota’s season-high five home runs in a home rout over Chicago.

Joey Gallo, Jorge Polanco and Carlos Correa also homered for the Twins, who gave plenty of run support to Joe Ryan (6-1), who struck out 10 in six scoreless innings.

DIAMONDBACKS 7, GIANTS 2 >> Rookie Dominic Fletcher hit a two-run homer and a go-ahead, bases-clearing triple for five RBIs, Zac Gallen pitched 7 2/3 strong innings and Arizona beat visiting San Francisco.

Fletcher, a former Cypress High standout, has been swinging a hot bat since being called up for his first big-league action in late April, hitting .457 in 35 at-bats.

He hit his first MLB homer Friday and followed that up with a clutch triple in the sixth on Saturday.

That was enough run support for Gallen (6-1), who gave up two runs on five hits, striking out six and walking two.
