MENTOR Minnesota recruits caring adults to help introduce a child to new ideas and opportunities through mentoring. Here’s one of the kids who could use a mentor’s help.

First name: Ah’Naiyah

Age: 14

Location: Eagan

Interests: Ah’Naiyah likes staying connected with her friends, and she is into dramas (TV or movies). She enjoys getting out to enjoy a walk, or doing activities like basketball or Frisbee. She also enjoys going to live sports events. Other interests include music, car rides, drawing/painting, cooking or baking, talking pictures, or going out for a bite to eat or enjoy a coffee.

Personality/Characteristics: She describes herself as funny, caring and understandable/relatable. She likes to be there for her friends either offering advice or just listening.

Goals/Dreams: She would love to have a mentor who she feels comfortable to talk and open up to. Go on a walk, or enjoy a long car ride to catch up and listen to music, maybe just grab some food or coffee and chill. She recently moved to Minnesota from Nevada, and it was both scary and exciting as it is giving her some new chances and opportunities she didn’t have and chance to do some things differently here. She really wants: 1) a new phone 2) to have her family all back together. 3) just be able to get out and do more. She wants to pursue hair styling when she gets older.
