DIVISION V
Math & Science College Prep (25-7) at Diamond Ranch (22-14), 7 p.m.: It feels so long ago that Diamond Ranch finished 4-6 and in fourth place in the Mt. Baldy League and needed an at-large berth to get into the playoffs. The state playoffs have been good to the Panthers after they lost to Kaiser, 61-48, in the CIF-SS Division 5AA championship game. They got a rematch with Kaiser in the Division V regional quarterfinals and won 52-47. Jaiden Pullien scored a team-high 14 points. Against top-seeded Wilson in the regional semifinals, the Panthers won 56-46 with Pullian again leading the way with 13 points and 12 rebounds. “It’s a big deal,” Diamond Ranch coach Kevin Ryan said of playing for a regional title. “Our guys are playing hard and getting hot at the right time.” Math & Science College Prep, from the Los Angeles City Section, beat two local teams on its way to the regional finals. It knocked off Arroyo, 69-48, in the first round and beat Alhambra, 75-50, in the regional semifinals. Math & Science crushed Animo Venice 88-52 for the L.A. City Section Division III title and has won nine straight. Diamond Ranch has played well, but the road to Sacramento is a tough one.

DIVISION IV
Whitney (26-9) at Cantwell Sacred Heart (25-8), 7 p.m.: While Cantwell Sacred Heart lost to El Toro, 52-48, in the CIF-SS Division 3A championship game, it beat Whitney 41-36 in the semifinals. Now Whitney will get its shot at payback against Cantwell in a rematch in the regional final. The winner heads to Sacramento to play for the state title. In the Cardinals’ 43-40 win over Gahr in the regional semifinals Saturday, Alicia Lara led the way with 14 points and Marina Leiva added 10 points. In the Cardinals’ 63-49 victory over La Mirada to open the state playoffs, Lara poured in 23 points and Leiva finished with 17. Leilani Dominguez is the team’s other leading player. Whitney has rebounded well since its loss to Cantwell Sacred Heart. It dominated its first two state playoff games and pulled out a 45-39 win over Granada Hills in the regional semifinals. Cantwell, at home, feels like a good bet.
