The San Rafael Pacifics lost to the Dublin Leprechauns for the second time this week on Friday, falling 7-4 at Albert Park.

Trailing 5-0 after six innings, San Rafael mounted a rally effort with a three-run eighth inning. Blake Diggle scored from third on a wild pitch and Keith Whitaker followed with a two-run single.

The Leprechauns padded their lead with a pair of runs in the ninth inning. Dublin beat San Rafael 7-6 on Tuesday.

San Rafael starter Alex Valasek took the loss as he allowed four earned runs on five hits through eight innings, despite striking out seven batters and walking just two.

The Pacifics (22-8) are scheduled to play an afternoon game in Vallejo (12-18) on Sunday.

Golf

Novato’s Nick Woo tied for second with a 1-under 71 at Fairfield’s Paradise Valley in NCGA amateur stroke play qualifying on Friday. The 45th NCGA championship is scheduled for July 11-13 at Poppy Hills Golf Course.

Basketball
