The Octopus’ Beer Garden on the Clinton River just north of downtown Mount Clemens will host their first-ever St. Patrick’s Day party on Monday.
To kick off the festivities, the Beer Garden will open its doors at 9 a.m.
Owner Chef Bob Halaas says he invested in some remote-controlled glass units and already had big patio heaters to keep party-goers warm during the chilly weather while still allowing a relaxing view of properties along the river.
“This place never had enclosures to keep the wind out, so we had those installed. We stayed open until New Year’s Eve last year, which was a success. Now we can be open earlier in the year. We never could before,” he said Thursday evening.
The chef has some exciting plans for the future of his North River Road property, but we’ll get to that another time.
For Monday’s celebration, there will be corned beef hash and scrambled eggs available until 1 p.m. The menu for the rest of the day includes corned beef and cabbage, Irish beef stew, potato soup, and corned beef sandwiches.
There won’t be green beer, but there will be Irish beer, Halaas said.
The first 60 customers will receive a complimentary Irish Octopus’ Beer Garden T shirt.
Live music will be provided by The Fox and the Fiddle from 1-3 p.m. followed by Dave Edwards & The Look taking the stage from 4-7 p.m. DJ Bad Luck spins the tunes 7-11 p.m.
Octopus’ Beer Garden is at 152 North River Road, Mount Clemens. More information is available at facebook.com/octopussbeergarden or by calling 586-221-1521.
