SANTA CRUZ >> In anticipation of the coming winter storm season, Caltrans has planned more tree trimming work along Highway 17 that will result in multiple daytime closures next week.

According to a Caltrans release, the closure will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday and continuing through Thursday, Nov. 7. It will impact the right lane of Highway 17 in the northbound direction from Pasatiempo Drive to La Madrona Drive.

Message and directional signs will be stood up to alert travelers, but delays of 10-15 minutes are to be expected.

The closure will allow crews to utilize a crane for removing trees along the busy highway for safety reasons.
