Trump’s mandate

Re “Trump doesn’t really have a mandate” (Dec. 15):

A mandate, in politics, is the idea that a political official has been elected because the public supports their platforms and wants to see them enacted. Most Donald Trump voters were focused on economic growth, strong border security, limited government, and a commitment to “America First” policies. Supporters value his demonstrated strength in addressing global challenges, and his promises to restore traditional values and national pride. The election of Trump could also be seen as a rejection of the Biden administration’s policies as some voters were likely motivated by dissatisfaction with economic management, immigration policies, foreign affairs or “woke” and other cultural issues under the current administration. They voted for reversing or altering the direction of Biden-era initiatives in favor of policies more aligned with their beliefs and values.

Trump’s victory

According to Rafael Perez’s column “Trump doesn’t really have a mandate.” So what? The Democrats just can’t get over the fact that Americans rejected a horrible candidate and her knucklehead sidekick. As President Obama famously said, “Elections have consequences.” Get over yourselves and wish the new administration luck in its endeavors.

Jan. 6

Interesting to note you used an Associated Press story on Dec. 13 to cover the investigation of Jan. 6 and FBI informants in the crowd. The headline is very misleading, as three individuals who are inside of the right wing groups were authorized to gain information and be inside the gathering, but 26 of these informants were actually in attendance. We know they were not FBI employees but the FBI has contact with them. None of the 26 have been charged unlike the other 1,400 who have been charged. This clearly points to the fact that the FBI used some tricky wording about not having anyone inside the ropes. Maybe that is why Wray resigned before this investigation was made public. AP is leftist, same as NYT, and the paper uses their left-leaning lies all the time. Why? You have to admit that the information just released yields more questions than answers. Very poor coverage about an important talking point and you just catered to the left on this one.
