On the mound: No. 1 prospect Chase Dollander had a lousy afternoon. The right-hander yanked his fastball and it cost him. In just 1 2/3 innings, Dollander gave up five runs on two hits and four walks. He needed 50 pitches. His spring ERA ballooned to 12.15. … Hard-throwing right-hander Victor Vodnik, competing for the closer’s job, gave up two runs on two hits in his inning of work. … The two other closer candidates fared better. Veteran right-hander Tyler Kinley struck out two in his perfect inning and has not been scored on this spring. Right-hander Seth Halvorson also worked a scoreless inning, allowing one hit. He has a 1.80 ERA.

At the plate: The Rockies had seven hits but managed just one run, going 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position and leaving 11 men stranded. They struck out 11 times. … Leadoff hitter Brenton Doyle hit 2 for 3 with a double and scored the only run. … Shortstop Ezequiel Tovar was 1 for 3 with an RBI. … Designated hitter Kris Bryant is hitting .200 after going 0 for 3 with two strikeouts.
