1931 -2024 Resident of Santa Clara Paula Theresia Maria Vossen, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home on October 3, 2024, surrounded by her four children, Maryke Canziani, Charilynn Lopez, Yvonne Broszus and Paul Vossen. Paula was born in 1931 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to Carel Johannes Wijdeveld and Elisabeth Maria Catharina Stapper, along with her twin brother, Paul. Paul and Paula were the youngest of 6 children and were inseparable while growing up in the midst of World War II in Holland.

She met her sweetheart, Harry, at age 17, and after a 10-year courtship, they were married in 1958. They immigrated to the United States in 1960 and became forevermore proud Americans.

Paula was a faithful and supportive wife to Harry, as well as a dedicated mother to her children and community.

She volunteered in her local neighborhood and schools, St. Justin’s Church, Kaiser Hospital, Red Cross, and other community organizations. She loved the outdoors and adventure. She was an avid walker and successfully completed arduous walks such as the entire perimeter of Lake Tahoe and the “”Vier Dagen” in Holland.

She is survived by her four children (and their spouses), ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family in America and The Netherlands. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Harry, twin brother, Paul, and her four other siblings and their spouses.

Services to commemorate her life include a vigil on October 15, 2024, 6-8 pm, at Spangler’s Mortuary in Los Altos and a funeral on October 16, 2024 at 10 am at St.

Justin’s Church in Santa Clara. She will be interred at the Mission City Memorial Park in Santa Clara. For more information, email paulavos100@gmail.com
