Former UCLA women’s basketball player Londynn Jones announced in an Instagram post on Wednesday that she is transferring to USC for her final year of eligibility.
“best of both worlds, LA…. I’m still here,” Jones, a Corona Centennial High grad, wrote in the post.
Her Bruins teammates showed support for the move by commenting on the social media post. Angela Duglic, Lauren Betts and Gabriela Jaquez each commented with encouraging messages.
“I love u so much Deezy my fav Trojan,” Betts wrote.
“love you Deezy! My sis 4L!!! It’s on sight on the court tho,” said Dugalic.
Jones was one of six players to leave UCLA, which reached the Final Four this season, after the departure of the entire freshman class as well as Janiah Barker, who committed to Tennessee on Monday.
A 5-foot-4 sharpshooter, Jones started in 31 out of 37 games this season and ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 8.5 points per game while shooting 34.7% from the floor and 35.1% from 3-point range. She made a team-high 72 shots on 205 attempts.
Jones is not the first player to transfer from UCLA to USC. Dominique Onu played two seasons with the Bruins, then transferred to the Trojans in December 2022.
