Hannah Grace Emberson died on August 23, 2024 after a long illness. Hannah was born at Dominican Hospital to David and Linda Emberson on January 27, 1989. She attended Gateway School, Westlake School, Mission Hill Junior High and was a 2007 graduate of Santa Cruz High, where she was a member of the JV soccer team. Hannah loved the outdoors and was an accomplished rider and a member of the Santa Cruz Pony Club. She loved riding dressage on her horse Bibi. Hannah obtained her A.A. degree in sociology from Cabrillo College and went on to obtain her B.A. in sociology from San Jose State. She worked in local real estate for David Lyng and Coldwell Banker, and in commercial real estate in San Francisco. Hannah is survived by her father, David Emberson of Santa Cruz, her mother Linda Emberson of Tiburon, her twin brother Robert of Santee, her sister Laura of Fredricksburg, Virginia, stepmother Janell Emberson, and grandfather C. Richard Emberson of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Her radiant smile, cheerful optimism, and tenacious strength will never be forgotten. A celebration of life will be held on September 29, 2024 at 1pm at the home of David and Janell Emberson, 300 Moore Creek Road, Santa Cruz. In lieu of flowers, contributions are preferred to City of Hope (www.cityofhope.org).
